Grumman's Widgeon

Image

Online exclusive video interview Jay Smith talks about the widgeon At the turn of the 20th century, a sea plane entered the market intended to civilian market - the Widgeon. Similar to the Grumman Goose, the Widgeon is slightly smaller. The aircraft was used as a small patrol and utility aircraft during World War II by the US Navy, US Coast Guard, and the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm. During it's service, the Widgeon earned the nickname the Gosling. Widgeons are still in service today. Singer-song writer Jimmy Buffet owns a Widgeon.
