March 2025 - District XI

Hi all! It was slightly after the holidays as I wrote this. In our district, that means we are deep in the build season. I have a couple of projects in process; I hope all of you do as well. Please send me pictures and short write-ups and I’ll try to include them in future articles.

Here’s a picture of my Anser glider kit that I’m building. This was the first RC model I flew solo 47 years ago.

I have also made some progress on my Der Jäger kit.

I try to keep flying all year long. I fly some indoor events and also outdoors if it isn’t too cold. I attended the Baron’s New Years fly-in at Deer Park Airport in Washington State on January 1. It snowed lightly all day, but we had a good day flying and eating.

Barry Greene and Brandy Ravenfire did a great job providing lunch—pulled pork and all the fixings. Here are some pictures:

The AMA Northwest Jamboree is scheduled for June 20-22, 2025, at the Wenatchee Red Apple Flyers field in East Wenatchee, Washington. Be sure to plan to attend.

We will have fun for all. There will be lots of open flying, demonstrations, a big raffle, and more. On-site camping is available.

That’s it for this month. Keep building and flying!
