January 2025 - District X

The Turlock RC Club hosted its 33rd annual Lake McSwain Float Fly again this year, bringing pilots from many areas. Flying from water can be uncommon for most, so many pilots have to dust off airplanes that aren’t often flown. The weather was great, and the opportunity to share flying with friends for a weekend is what keeps everyone coming back.

I had the opportunity to bring my own Timber with floats to the event and redeem myself from previously earning the Splash Award! Although flying from water is great because the runway is always into the wind, the landings take a bit more finesse to keep everything level!

Following a great day of flying, the evening was capped off with an excellent meal shared among family then by an incredible raffle.

Feel free to reach out with any questions, comments, recommendations, or issues. There is much to share across the district.

Enjoy everything you build and fly.
