April 2025 - District VIII

Meet our new Associate Vice President (AVP) for District VIII, Michael Hicks:

I spent most of my adult life sitting in the back of a U.S. Navy EP-3E Orion. On my first visit to the El Paso Controllers Club (EPRC), I met the former District VIII AVP and EPRC president, Paul Rucker. The members helped me a lot and, when my first trainer left the ground, I was hooked!

I am an event coordinator, contest director, and the EPRC president. I have hosted fun-flys. I am active in International Miniature Aerobatic Club, and my club hosts the EPRC SC/SW Smackdown.

I am now on my second term as club president. I would enjoy coming to your events and representing you as best as I can. Let’s make modeling the best it can be. See you around, District VIII.
