Model Aviation event coverage of the Horizon Indoor
Online exclusive text, videos, and photos.

Park flyers, indoor aircraft, micro helicopters, and the growing popularity of foams planes have catapulted the popularity of indoor flying. Horizon Indoor (formerly JR Indoor Electric Festival) was one of the first major indoor festivals in the country to capitalize on this growing trend over ten years ago. In 2013, Horizon Indoor continues its success with a three day event.

Top Gun winner Terry Nitsch serves as contest director. In a video interview Terry stresses that the event primary purpose is to promote the fun and fellowship of indoor flying.

The Horizon Indoor event is held in the Four Seasons Golf Dome in Columbus, Ohio. This large facility offers ample flying space including a smooth runway. Unlike most other indoor events, the Horizon Indoor provides pilots with Spektrum Lake - a portable pond for seaplanes.

Model Aviation Editor-in-Chief Jay Smith attended the event and spoke with some of the participants and vendors.

You always do an amazing job. Love the coverage your team provides. Great photos and videos. Sadly none of my photos on my Canon Powershot turned out - too dark.

Terry and his crew did a great Job and We here at BuddyRc was glad to be part of it
